Under the direction of national team coaches John and Kathryn Geddert, the Twistars USA summer camp focuses on preparing athletes for the next level by providing sound training advice and techniques. Of course our camp would not be as popular as it is if it wasn’t for the energetic, fun filled, safety first atmosphere. The bottom line is learning needs to be fun BUT athletes do need to realize that WORK is the key to success.

John and Kathryn Geddert have been training national caliber gymnasts for more than 30 years. Since moving to the mid-Michigan area in 1985 they have directed over 100 state championship teams, 38 Junior Olympic and Elite National Team Members, and more than 40 NATIONAL CHAMPIONS (including a national record 15 in 2002.) What is the secret? Well that will be the thrust behind the 2012 Twistars USA Summer camp. JOIN US FOR A GREAT LEARNING EXPERIENCE!

Day Camper ($350) Includes all gymnastics training, scheduled camp activities and a free camp t-shirt. Day Campers should bring a sack lunch or money to purchase lunch/snacks at our concession stand. Day campers must be at least 7 years old. Pre-ordered box lunch forms will be available on our web-site.

Overnight Camper ($440) Campers will be housed with Twistars competitive team families (Sunday night through Wednesday night). Breakfast, Dinner and camp related transportation will be provided. Overnight campers should be at least 9 years old.

Multiple Sessions:  Would you like to add a 2nd or 3rd session of camp?  No problem, the discounted rate for each is $270 for a Day Camper or $360 per session for an Overnight Camper.

OUTSTANDING FACILITY

 

Twistars USA is Located in Dimondale Michigan, a suburb of Lansing. Our facility is part of a $12 million multi-sports complex which features 2 ice skating rinks, 2 indoor soccer fields, 5 adjacent basketball courts and of course our 18,000 square foot gymnastics training center. The gym is equipped with state of the art apparatus, foam and resi pits, TEVO video review systems and overhead spotting rigs.

TWISTARS CAMP PHILOSOPHY

The Twistars USA Gymnastics Camp is conducted in a positive, energetic atmosphere, while placing emphasis on “what it takes to achieve success in this very demanding sport.” Lessons on proper skill progressions, strength and flexibility training and development, as well as CHAMPIONSHIP ATTITUDES will all be part of the 5-6 hour per day gymnastics curriculum.

THE COACHING STAFF

The Twistars Summer Camp Staff features our own nationally recognized coaches along with several nationally known clinicians. Past clinicians include Sam Buchalter, Marco Bravo (Phenom), Eilene Spicher and Patti Bovee (Splitz), Dave Rawles (Libertyville), Sam Morreale (Northern Illinois U), Dave Kuzera (WMU), Glen Wilmeng (UGA), Tom Ward (Arizona State), Dan Miller (Nebraska), Katie Teft (Iowa State), Randy Lane (UCLA), Kathie Klages (MSU) and MORE.

All evening activities are included in your registration. Participation is optional.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION

Camp registration fees are accepted on a first paid basis. Register early, the camp has been full for the last 10 years.

  • All Refunds are subject to a $30 processing and administrative charge.
  • No Refunds after JUNE 1.
  • All campers must have a signed waiver on file in order to participate. These will be available on our web site.
  • Complete insurance information must be provided. Twistars USA Insurance is considered secondary. Forms available on our website.
  • All Campers must adhere to the established safety and code of conduct rules. Major violations could result in dismissal from camp without refund.
  • Check-in will take place at 8:00 AM on the first day of each camp session. Camp will be dismissed at 4:30 PM on the last day of each session.
  • SHOW TIME– We conclude each camp session on day four with a dance presentation for the parents. Bring your video cameras!
